Antelope

The Antelope is one of Ghana's most wide spread animals and can be found in every part of the country. Most of them can be seen in the Mole and Kakum National Parks. There are many different types of Antelope and we surely have not been able to list all here but we hope that we got most of them.

The Water Chevrotain is closely related to the European Deer and it is mostly found near water in the Ghanaian rain forest.

   
   

Ghana has 6 species of Duiker: the Black Duiker, Maxwell's Duiker, Bay Duiker, Ogilby's Duiker, Yellow Backed Duiker and the Red Flanked Duike.

The Royal Antelope is the smallest African antelope.

The Bushbuck is very common in most areas in Ghana.

The Bongo is very shy and secretive and is unlikely to be seen.

The Western Hartebeest can be found only in the Mole Ntional Park and surrounding areas.

The Defassa Waterbuck is not shy of humans and can be found frequently near the Mole Motel.

The Bohor Reedbuck is less common and can mostly be found near water bodies.

The Oribi is like a miniature reedbuck but very uncommon in grassland areas.
