Ghana
has monkeys all over in every forest and thicker bush. They
are not shy and can often be found near villages. Ghana has
several reservation areas for them. These are Boabeng &
Fiema Monkey Sanctuary in Kintampo, the Shai Hills, the
Ankasa and Bia Reserve. Of course we see them also in the
Mole and Kakum National Parks as well as on Monkey Hill in
Takoradi. In these reserves the animals and humans live in
harmony with each other. It is not unusual to see the
monkeys coming to the nearby villages in search of food. |
